Consumer Reports rates them with awful reliability yet I have not had a single issue. I test drove the VW GTI, and that is a great car, but a whole different animal. The regular Fiesta has issues with the transmissions, but I haven't heard much complaints with the Fiesta ST. If you really want it then go for it but since you're asking if they're reliable I wouldn't say so. Fiat 500's are not reliable. The Abarth may have a more reliable engine but other components can still give you trouble. I just wish my arm rest was 3 inches higher. The seats were definitely not made for a 6'3" dude. 6’2” here. I’ve had my 2013 Abarth from 64000 to 85000 miles. The driveshafts are wearing out and the shirt linkage is corroded. I’d say these are easily fixed problems and are not a big deal. I normally drive Hondas and wasn’t expecting the Fiat to be reliable but it’s been a fine car. It’s also a super fun car, imo.
